Ceremony Props that Rock.....saying "I do" with style.

The weddings of today have become imaginative expressions of the bridal couple, loaded full of personality and creative fun. The tradition of a plain altar is long gone, as the ceremony often kicks off this personal themed celebration. Couples are free to say "I do" with as much style and design as the reception.

I've gathered up some of my favorites ceremony altars and props from around the web. You'll see how easy it is to incorporate unique everyday items and turn them into playful ceremony props to create an amazing place to exchange your vows.

Making a grand entrance to your ceremony area or setting off the aisle is an expected element that most couples do not take advantage of. This rustic door frame decorated in garland is the perfect way to greet guests. Old gates, sliding panels or drawback curtains would also work well.

One of my favorite elements to use is traditional furniture in non-traditional ways. Take this "outdoor living room" (below left) design featuring over-sized bookshelves, ottomans, and floor lamps create a more modern look.

If you are looking for something more whimsical, then I suggest you create something similar to the picture above on the right. It's bright, bold, and colorful. (You can tell the couple are too!) This couple opted for large wooden frames and canvas. Some of them are covered in fabric, while a few are left open acting like "windows". Then they arranged them in an eclectic way. (So fun and this is so inexpensive to do)

What better way to create a garden themed ceremony altar but with gigantic initials from moss?!  Then accent with miniature topiary trees and boxed wood plants to finish the look. You can take this concept and create anything your heart can imagine; from  heart, an arch, animals, a cross, or whatever you want.

These last two photos show off a little theme ingenuity. If you are looking to create a fall, vintage farmhouse, western cowboy, or haute hoedown then hay bale altar is perfect. I love how the couple added the cowboy boots and lasso.

The couple on the left is showing off, not only their love for each other, but their love for surfacing. You can tell the beach (and the waves) are near by. The tropical flowers, his "Hawaiian surf shirt" and her soft simple gown complete this beach theme.

It very easy to express yourself and your spouse to be using a variety of themed elements and props. So don't be afraid to exchange your vows, your way.  If you are still looking for more inspiration, then check out my additional "Ceremony Props" board on Pinterest.
