Many couples these days are looking for a unique way to add some WOW to their wedding day, wanting to give guests a little unexpected without breaking their bank. Creating a Lounge
area is perfect to achieve this. Perhaps you create a lounge escape away from
the music and other guests….as a place to catch your breath. Or take your dance
floor and transform the area into a night club with extra seating and tables.
Which ever you decide is up to you, but I am always amazed at how often lounge
areas are over looked.
I am not sure if it’s due to the preconceived notion that
they are too expensive to create, or the frame of mind the no one will really
use them. well, I say “rubbish” to those thoughts. Creating a lounge is very simple
to do, very affordable, and will give your wedding a more upscale look. Plus,
use it as a unique picture spot for yourself and your guests.
Don’t be afraid to think Inside-Out. Furniture and accessories you use indoor
can be used outdoor and vice versa for comma indoors elements.
Creating a lounge doesn’t have to be expensive or an
overwhelming process. Plus, your lounge can be simple, complex, large or small.
It all depends on the look you want. You can rent tables, chairs, sofas, and
benches from rental shops or rent-to-own furniture places. Flea markets, estate
auctions, and consignment furniture shops are great places to find antique
or vintage furniture for a fraction of the cost.
Mix and match to create a shabby chic, soft country or
vintage feeling. Just tie all your colors together to ensure a cohesive look. Borrow what you can from
willing family and friends. Slip covers in one color can create an amazing
effect. Make sure to create groupings and don’t leave out the accessories, side
tables, centerpieces, and lighting. Happy Planning! May your wedding dreams bloom!
Are you thinking about creating a lounge? If not, why? If
so, what look are you going for?
